About BusinessDegree Online

Plain-language guides for people deciding whether, where and how to earn a business degree online.

BusinessDegree Online explains business degrees the way a good academic advisor would: what each degree involves, how long it really takes, what it costs, and where it leads. We focus on online and flexible programs because most of our readers are working, raising families or returning to school after time away.

What we cover

  • Degree levels: associate, bachelor's, master's, MBA and doctorate.
  • Majors: from business administration and accounting to construction management and healthcare administration.
  • Careers and pay: using the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook.
  • Practical guides: credits, transfer, accreditation, financial aid and self-paced study.

Where our numbers come from

Salary and job outlook figures come from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Enrollment and degree data come from the National Center for Education Statistics. Financial aid rules come from the U.S. Department of Education. Published tuition averages come from the College Board. Each page lists the sources it uses.

What we do not do

We do not rank schools, sell leads or accept payment from colleges to appear in our guides. When we discuss program types, we describe how they work rather than steering you to a particular school.
